New Danville Fire Co. added 42 new photos.

Station 55 along with numerous other fire companies were dispatched to a barn fire at 2916 Safe Harbor Road in Manor Township. It was a working fire that went to a second alarm bringing additional personnel and tankers.

New Danville responded with Tanker 55, R/E 55-1 and Engine 55-2. The tanker was one of the earlier tankers on scene. Both engines worked at the fill site along Warehouse Road in Safe Harbor.

(An update - Engine 55-2 was purchased recently and is still lettered as Engine 602 from Ashville. It was put in service today by Chief 55 and handled it's first assignment with flying colors.)

There were no animals lost in the blaze and no injuries to firefighters. The first arriving engines concentrated on protecting the nearby structures.

New Danville Pike on the hill south of the river heading towards New Danville is a complete parking lot, multiple cars off the road. Avoid if at all possible

Station 55 was dispatched to three incidents today. The first dispatch was to assist station 50 with fire police at an accident on the Willow Street Pike.

The second call was to assist station 60 for a commercial business fire on Baumgardner Road. Fortunately there was no serious fire, and appeared to be an electrical malfunction.

The third incident was to assist station 53 with spill control on Stehman Road at Slackwater Road. A combine blew an hydraulic line and dropped fluid from Walnut Hill Road to where it stopped at Slackwater Road. The 55 crew placed sta-dry on Stehman Road from Slackwater to the other side of the bridge over the Conestoga River.

Crews from station 905 checked out the Manor Township and Millersville areas of the road. Fire police from station 50 assisted 55 FP at the scene.
