Earlier this morning, members from NDFC had the opportunity to pay their final respects to Fred Warfel at his funeral service. At the conclusion of the service, Squad 55-2 was part of the funeral procession that would proceed from the church back to the cemetery in Conestoga. Fred received his final ride in the new Engine 53-1, which has been dedicated in memory of him. We thank Fred for his unselfish dedication to the residents of Conestoga over the past 67 years. VEHICLE ACCIDENT 5-17-2018

Just after 4PM, Conestoga and New Danville Fire Companies were alerted for a vehicle into a pole at 74 Kendig Road in Conestoga Township. On arrival, crews encountered a Chevy Camaro with the passenger side slammed into a utility pole. The male driver had some facial cuts but was up and walking with what appeared to be no serious injuries. Fortunately there were no passengers in the vehicle.

Due to the fact that Conestoga FC Members were getting ready to attend Fred Warfel's viewing, they returned to quarters and New Danville stood by until the incident was complete.
